Amazing day

So today has been a really good day for us!!
Dad was in wound care and they took out every other stitches, and they finally got the socks on his legs and arms to form them the right way. When they were forming normally they looked like a hourglass, so this will just help to form them the right way!. They look really good!

Then we went to therapy, this is where is became amazing! They fitted my Dad with a brace on his right arm. Guess what that means? He will be able to feed himself, change the channel, call the nurse, use an ipad, and Write.

And today he WROTE him Name!

 AMAZING!!

Yea today has been a really good day!
And we are talking about rehab this coming week!
and tub is coming out tomorrow!
My dad is my HERO!

Circles

So Wednesday night my dad woke up about 5 in the morning and he belly was the size of 4 bowling balls. He belly was so swelled that they had to do a few test to see why it was doing that. They said anytime they works with the bowel its never uncommon for something like this to happen. Bowel really don't like to be messed around with. His hear rate was really high and his blood pressure was stable. He was having a hard time breathing and was just really tired. When the x-ray come back it looked like he was having an other obstruction of the bowel. The only reason why they didn't think it was that was cause he was still passing gas and was able to have bowel movements. So what they did was put a tub down his nose to get ride of all the fluids from his tummy as well as the air. They are really hoping that he will start burping and farting a lot more, cause the tub can only take out so much before there is nothing left. So passing gas is the best way to get all the air out. Who would know we would be excited about my dad passing gas.. :)

So after the tub went in, right away there was 2 liters that came out., and by the end of the night there was 4 liters. Crazy huh. I cant believe how much your body can hold. Once they got that in his heart rate started going down and it seems like he wasn't in as much pain anymore. But then all day yesterday he was just super tired and not really doing anything. Kinda felt like we did a big circle.

As of today they still have the tub down him, but what he said they are going to take it out tomorrow! Lets hope. He heart rate is normal and he seems to be doing a lot better today! i know that we will have bumps in the road but haven't we already had so many. I thought we would be out of the woods and be thinking about going home sooner! I know that time will come, but we are already to have him home now!

My dad legs, hands and fingers look wonderful, we should be getting stitches out here in the next week. Still hard to not see them there, but I'm getting used to it! Each day he is having to get medication to get ride of the feeling that he still has feet and hand. That's hard to see him think he still has them but the doctor says that should only last a few months. My dad says his fingers on his right (remember that's the one that had to go to his elbow) feel like they are 2 feet long and that someone is holding his hand. He thinks that he feet are ice cold and that he is wearing shoes! So that is hard to have to remind him that there aren't there.
Last night was a really hard time for my dad and i! He was looking sad and i ask him what wrong and he told me "I just don't understand why it has to be me, Why do i always have to get sick, and get out through this"BROKE MY HEART! I had no clue what to say to him! I just told him that he is so strong and to never give up! He promised me that he would Never stop fight and together we will get through this!! Made me feel a little better.
My dad is STRONG

Here is a picture of my sweet dad sleeping. :)

Okay so on to the good news!
My dad's working is AMAZZZING!
So when my dad got sick they got together and saved up money to pay the house payment, they also gave us money just for the hell of it, they are dealing with dad retirement for us, they have gotten a raffle together to raise money for my dad wheel chair and whatever else we need, and i can keep going on and on, so pretty much they are the bomb.com. Am i right..
Well about a few weeks ago we got a call from my dad's work buddy and he told us that working is going to build a ramp for my dad.
I was like
Yes that is how i looked for a good couple hours. I was just so happy. They told us, all we need to worry about is getting my dad better and get him home. With them helping us and them dealing with everything we really don't have to worry about anything other then getting my dad better! It just amaze me what they are doing! I knew my dad was liked and loves, but you never really know till you get sick! He is so loved and so amazing to everyone! I don't think we can say thank you enough to them for everything that have done for us and for my dad!
So a week or so before my dad gets home our house will be a construction zone. The whole house, we will get new door, new tub chair, toilet chair and a wonderful ramp. Its just amazing how much people come together in times like these. We are SOOO thankful for everyone that has helped us.

One step at a time

So i know that its been a really long time that i have updated, but all i do is go to the hospital and hangout with my dad. I feel bad that i haven't updated you guys for a really long time, but i promise i will do better! Computer is going to go up the the hospital with me everyday so i can update while he is sleeping!

Okay so last time i wrote anything we had just done the second surgery and the bad days with his kidneys.. Well since then things have been a little better.. Let me start when his bad week. the December 25-29. These were the days where my dad really didn't know who he was or anything. He would talk to us and tells us he loved us but its was just really hard to know that he was having a hard time. On the 29th my Dad sister and brother came down from Idaho, it was like he knew that he needed to get better cause that day was a change. He was back to who he was, he was joking, getting after us, and was just back to my DAD. I was so happy to see him start he be like himself again. We were able to take him out side for the first time. I knew he loved doing that. Able to breath in the air, and the cold. He was in heaven, and so were we.

The week of 29th- the 6th, was such a great week. I was the one who was at the hospital with him all the time. Torie and Michael had to go back to California and my Brother also had to go back to Idaho. So it was just going to be.  I was looking forward to this.! I was reallying needed this time with him and I. I was under stress and i knew just hanging out with him would make everything better! It really helped. My dad was back to what he was before he got sick, he was bossing me around, we were joking and just being like our self again! I loved it.! Things couldn't be better. He was going all the therapy that was out there and was doing them so great! He was able to start eating real food again, and he was able to start drinking water, soda, and his coffee. He was really excited about that!
The doctor came in and was talking to us about stopping Dialysis for a couple days and see how he would do on his own again. UGH we didn't want this at all. We didnt want that to happen again and start from square one again! But the doctor said that he was peeing a lot and things were looking really good. Okay so last Wednesday was the day we stopped it. They would watch it day by day and just keep a close eye on him to see if anything changed. Day one:good, day two: better, day three: even better, day four: great. Each day it seemed to get better and better! We were excited and just jumping for joy. But not to soon, we were still worried that things might change. We had high hope, and so did the doctor.

January 6th. This weekend we had my aunts, uncles, cousins, and just tons of people there. They hadn't seen my dad in a long time so they wanted to come spend the weekend with us. We were excited to have them see him! When we got to the hospital my dad was having really bad stomach pains. they were like poop pains, he hadn't had a bowl movement for a few days, and they just thought he needed to have a bowl movement. So they did a cat scan to see just what it really was. All day my dad was in so much pain that he couldn't really visit. We really weren't worried cause we knew he needed to poop. TMI. Once the test came back, the doctor said we needed to do an emergency surgery. He had an obstruction of the bowel or inside of his small intestine. They knew that he has some kind of mass,  but just wasnt sure, they told us if they didnt get it out or check on it, it could be something deadly. So it scared the crap out of us. It felt like we were doing an other step back and it was just really hard to send him off to surgery once again..
They said that surgery would take about an hour and if anything changed they would call us. Well an hour passed, and then two hours rolled around. We were getting a little crazy waiting and waiting. Finally after two hours the doctor came out. He said that there was a mass/tumor in his small intestine. They had to take a few inches from his small intestine and to do Reconstruction on it. They were going to do test on the mass to see what that it was. They were worried that it might be cancer or something but We still haven't got the result from that. They said when he was open, they would of been able to fit a football in his stomach. They opened him from the bottom of his breast bone to the bottom of his belly button. He is doing much better today just in a ton of pain. It hurts for him to do anything. He isn't able to drink or eat, but that will slowly come back. I dont know if i said this in post before but a few weeks before my dad got really sick he was having stomach pain and was going in to get it check to see what it was, they thought it was an ulcer, well that pain was this pain he was feeling and had surgey for. So no matter what he would of had this surgery, but it might of been worst. So this was a good thing that we were here, and able to get it fixed.

Yesterday we got the best news!!!!!

NO MORE DIALYSIS!
They took it out and its been a week that he last got it! IT was such great news to know we wont have to do that anymore!! Ahh beautiful music to our ears!
