Recovery....

This picture pretty much sums up on how i was feeling.
TIRED
WORN OUT
SORE
and
Hemorrhaging.

After My mom, Mother in law, sister and brother in law came to meet Izaac everything starting to come loose. We were telling everyone goodbye and my nurse came in to get me ready to take me to recovery. Well i gave everyone kisses and moved over to the next bed. The nurse checked my bleeding and pushed on my belly and i just felt a HUGE gush.. Nothing little about this.

She did it a few more times and called Dr Stevenson..
The next thing i know is i have three nurses and my doctor over me and pushing on my belly. My doctor hand was half way up in me and hurting me like no other. I swear it hurt so much more then delivery. She was getting out my blood clots. My uterus wasn't where it was supposed to be. It was clear up under my right boob. The reason why it was clear up there was cause i had so many blood clots that it didn't have room to go back to normal.

I was scared and didnt know what was really going on. I just knew i was in so much pain and wanting my husband. I had no clue where my husband was at this point so i was laying on my bed looking at the wall and just praying that everything was going to be okay.

They had to give me five sets of different pain medications cause my epidural was wearing off and some more medication to stop the bleeding.
Nothing didnt help. I was still in tons of pain and still clotting. The only thing it made me do was feel like i was higher the a kite.

She was trying so hard to get all the clots out but trying not to hurt me as bad. I felt like i was having contraction again and just felt sick to my stomach. I had to ask for a puke bag cause i was scared i was going to lose it. I remember blacking in and out and not knowing who anyone was. I remember asking my doctor who she was and why she was in my room. I also remember not knowing where i was or who my husband was. It was the worst feeling in the world.

I was hot, sick to my stomach, and just lost.
She told me that she thought she got all the clots and was going to check on an other delivery.
But as soon as she left i started bleeding more and more. My nurse had to keep changing the pad under me cause it would fill up so fast. They had to weight it so they knew how much blood i was losing. I think by the time i was all okay i had lost about 16,000 ml of blood. Stevenson came back in and got a few more clots out. I believe she got a total of 8 out of me.

It was about 3:00am when everything started to get better. I was in pain and still not knowing where i was. I do remember looking over to my left and seeing my husband holding our newborn son. Right then and there i knew i was going to be okay.

They took so blood and did some test to see if i was going to need a blood transfusion. When they started talking about this, i started freaking out. I was so scared that something bad was going to happen me to. I thought i was going to leave two little boys behind.

Test results came back and my levels were low but not low enough to need a transfusion. Thank the lord. They also wanted to keep me down in labor and delivery for the night just in case anything else happens. During the night i had my nurse and doctor come in and check on me about every half hour, to make sure i wasn't bleeding anymore.

Thankfully the next morning i was able to move upstairs and start feeling normal again.
Never in my life i thought i would go thought something like this. It was the worst thing i have every been thought. They said the reason why it happened was cause my blood pressure was so high during labor. 172/98.

As of right now i am anemic and having to take iron pills and a few others. Im still not back where i want tot be but im starting to feel like myself again. Im hoping at my 6 week appointment my levels will be up and i will be able to feel normal again!
It was all worth it cause i have my Izaac with me!

Izaac Birth Story Part 2

So after 4:00pm i really don't remember much of what time it was or anything so now its  just going to be one big story.

Once my contractions starting coming along i texted your moms and let them know they were able to come to the hospital to hang out with us. I swear we both got 100 of text from them to see if they were able to come up. I think once we told them to come up they jumped for joy!

Funny story that i forgot to put in last post. After Dr Stevenson broke my water i had to get up and pee really bad. Well my lovely husband came over and helped me stand up. As soon as i stood up i felt like i was peeing myself. I just stared at him and said i swear i didnt pee, i promise you i didnt pee myself. I think its just my water still coming out. Logan bursted into laughing at me cause i was so worried that he was going to make fun of me. The whole time i was walking to the bathroom i was leaving a trail of water behind me. Logan was so nice to clean it all up while i went to the bathroom. So each time i would get up to move around or get up to pee. I would pee myself with my water and my awesome husband would have to clean it up...

Okay now my mom, sister, mother in law and Connor finally made it up to the hospital. It was so nice to have them there to talk to. Dont get me wrong my husband is great but im sure he was getting sick of me and cleaning my pee up.
It was about 5:30 and everyone was getting hungry so Breanna, Barb and Connor went to grab everyone something to eat. While they were gone maybe 15 minters things got really crazy. By this time my potocin was up as far as it could go up.
My contractions starting coming about 1 min apart and lasting about 40 second. It was like i wasnt getting a break from them. Thankful Logan and my mom was there. My nurse came in and told Logan about some pressure point that he could do it try to relieve the pain. He would put all his weigh on my lower back and just push... OHH IT was heaven. As soon as a contraction would start coming he would come over and just push as much as he could. Then when Logan hand would get tired my mom would come over and do that same thing. I couldnt believe how much it helped and how fast my contraction where coming.

Barb and everyone came back from getting dinner and starting to eat. luckily my mom let Logan eat first cause as soon as he got done eating it when i really needed him the most! My contractions starting to get harder and closer together. I was breathing as good as i could and Logan was pushing my back as hard as he could. I felt bad cause everyone was looking at me like i was a monster or something im . sure.

My sweet sweet Connor Mike was wonderful, he would come over and rub my back for me and give me kisses on the face and tell me that everything was going to be okay. About that time my nurse came in and said finally your in pain!!! Yahoo. She said let me check you and see where you are now.
So everyone but Logan left and she checked me and said wow Chelby you are to an 8. We are going to get things ready for you to push.
By this time i was freaking out and asking for an epidural. Logan kept saying babe are you sure. You know you can do this. You dont need the epidural. (Before i went into labor i told logan please dont let me get the epidural as much as i yell and scream for it please make sure i dont get it). SO he was just doing his job and listening to his wife..
My doctor came in and starting to move my bed up for me to push. But when she checked me i was really only to a 6. Oh great i have time to get the epidural. Thank the lord cause by this time i was worn out and tired from the contraction coming so close and so strong.
My nurse came in and told Stevenson that the anesthesiology wasnt in the hospital and that i still might not get the epidural.

I felt like i would never make it thought labor and let alone delivery. My contractions were really bad and the nurse gave Logan a new pressure point to help me. He started to push on my knees like i was pushing the baby out. It helped but i was to the point that nothing was going to make me feel better other then the epidural... My husband was so wonderful, he knew right when a contraction was coming and would either push on my knees or crawl into bed with him and tell me breath babe, breath with me. He was truly the best! I always told myself that i would never be the lady in labor that you could hear down the hallway, but im sure everyone and their dogs could hear me. As soon as a contraction would start i would say BABE, and my breathing would start, two breaths in and one out. I know for a fact that i might of said a few words.

Just the time when i thought i would have to go all natural was when my best friend walking into the room. The anesthesiology came to save the day!!! and that is just what he did. I was leaned over a table and Logan was holding my hands and had his head on my head talking me though each contraction. I went though two more contraction and right in the middle of one i felt a huge poke and i jumped and hit Logan so hard in the head. It was the funniest thing ever. But slowly the epidural started working.

And the next thing i knew i was at a 10 and ready to push my little baby out!

It was so unreal that i was this close to meeting my little baby boy. I looked and Logan and couldn't help but smile cause i could see the look in Logan eye that he was ready to meet his son for the first time. 9:00 is when i started to push. I was so thankful that i had the mirror to look at cause i one point i was ready to give up. I had the epidural but i was still able to feel. I could feeling pressure, and i could feel me stretching. It was amazing cause i wasn't in the worst pain but i was still able to feel everything.  The next thing i knew i was able to see my little man head and then his shoulder and my doctor said OK Chelby try not to push or you will need stitches. We will do this slowly and your baby will be here soon. So two more little tiny pushes and my man made his way into the world!!!!

My Izaac was here!

I was so excited to hold Izaac for the first time and to look to see what he looked like and who he looked like.
Right away i was able to do skin to skin and try to breastfeed. We waited for the umbilical cord to stop pulsating before Logan cut. It was so amazing to watch my husband cut the cord and to see the smile on his face.
After i held Izaac they took him to get weighed and cleaned up.

Izaac was healthy and just perfect.
I couldnt wait for his bog brother to come and meet him for the first time!

As soon as i was all cleaned up and covered my Dr Stevenson asked if i wanted her to go get Connor. So she headed out to the waiting room and grab big brother. I was so excited to see what Connor would do when he met Izaac for the first time.
He slowly walked into the room and just peaked over the blanket and SMILED the biggest smile i ever saw.
The first thing he asked was how did Izaac come out? Did the doctor have to push hard on your belly. Everyone even my doctor and nurse started laughing.
Connor didnt want to hold Izaac till everyone else got to meet him first. But just knowing that Connor was the first person to met Izaac was perfect in my books.

Everything about my labor and delivery was perfect!!! I now have two handsome little boys in my life and wouldnt change it for the world.!!!
How did i ever get so lucky..

Part Three will be coming soon.
It will be all about my scare after delivery... Hopefully this time it wont take me long to write!!!! :)
